Did you know that Microsoft just announced its own text-to-image AI generator called Bing Image Creator?
It is set out to compete with Midjourney and other text-to-image AI generators.
Bing Image Creator is essentially powered by OpenAI’s DALL-E but it seems to use a more advanced/updated version of it.
How to generate art using Bing Image Creator?
This AI generator works in two ways:
PS. If you’re using the first option, start with a verb like “create” in your prompt, otherwise, Bing will just search for images online instead of generating them.
Anyways, using this AI tool it's almost like having your own personal graphic designer at your fingertips!
As a branding expert and designer myself, I’m always on the lookout for new tools that can make my work more efficient.
That’s why in this article, I’ll show you how to create different types of art using this new AI tool from Microsoft.
Everything from logos to illustrations, imitating paintings/drawing styles to even producing high-quality photos (alternative to stock photos).
The possibilities are endless, especially for those in fields like marketing, graphic design, and social media management, but it can be helpful to all creatives.
PS. Also check out my other article where I describe how to use Midjourney for logo design, and another one where I feature my collection of the best AI tools.
Now, let’s dive right into creating some AI art using Bing Image Creator.
In order to use this tool, all you need to do is give a text prompt, and then the AI algorithm will create an image that matches your request.
You can start with a verb like “create”, followed by a subject, like “a mascot logo”, followed by some adjectives, like style/genre/technique or basically any other description of your desired image.
First—let’s take a closer look at how you can use the Bing Image Creator to generate logo designs.
While Bing Image Creator is not specifically designed for logo design, it can serve as a powerful tool to quickly generate some logo ideas.
Just describe what type of logo you want, what it should feature, and in what kind of style.
For example: see the mascot logo of a robot that I was able to create above in 3 different styles: an (1) outline, (2) flat vector, and (3) 3d render with gradients.
If you want to design a mascot logo of a robot that is simple yet recognizable, consider using the outline technique.

Remember, less is often more when it comes to logo design, so don't be afraid to use keywords like “flat”, “vector” or “minimalist” to strip away unnecessary elements and embrace the power of minimalism.

Thirdly, if you want a more polished type of design, then consider creating a logo in a pseudo-3D render style:

By carefully choosing the level of detail and utilizing your keywords strategically, you can create a logo that is both visually appealing yet still simple enough so it can become easily recognizable.
Another way you can use Bing Image Creator is to create digital illustrations, simply start your prompt with “An illustration of...”.
In the first example, I used the keyword “fashion illustration” because it gives it a more raw, quick, and “unfinished” look.
An illustration of a woman taking a call, fashion illustration.
In the second example, I refer to a famous illustrator Mike Allred to resemble a specific comic book style / Pop art kind of style.

When it comes to creating brand illustrations, use the keyword “3d character” to achieve lately super trendy pseudo-3d render style.

Additionally, you can describe the character more precisely, for example, the type of pose you want, mood, perspective, colors, etc.
This probably should be under the same “illustration” category, but I simply wanted to point out that you can also imitate any type of painting or drawing technique.
Simply start your prompt with “A painting of...” or “A drawing of...” followed by the subject, and the desired artistic technique.
In the first example, I generated a simple pen drawing of a pit bull, that looks very classic and can be used for anything from poster design, to web design and beyond.

In the second example, I used the “acrylic paint” artistic technique, as it can give your images a more natural, and human-like touch (see the brush stroke texture).

Yet again, don’t forget the fact that you can also refer to famous artists, just like Pablo Picasso if you want to imitate a certain characteristic style.

In each example, I’m using the same subject so that you can see how the image changes based on the prompt.
Lastly, the Bing Image Creator can be used as a great alternative to buying stock photos.
No longer do you have to spend hours searching for the right image, now you can create it in 15 seconds or less!
Simply start your prompt with "A photo of...", and BTW photography is the default style for basically, all AI text-to-image generators.
I like motorcycles (I own a Harley), so I thought it would be a great idea to generate some photos of Harley riders in different styles.
The first example features a “vintage photography” style that can evoke the feeling of nostalgia, for example, if you’re working on a brand that should have that “old-school” look with some “heritage” into it.

In the second example, I decided to refer to a famous photographer Gregory Credson, in order to achieve a characteristic, sharp, black & white photography with great lighting.

And in the 3rd and last example, I’m using “neon lighting” to indicate the specific type of lighting I want the photo to imitate.

As you can see that results in a vibrant and electrifying visual effect that mimics the bright and colorful glow of neon lights.
The new Bing Image Creator is a great (and free) alternative to Midjourney, which is still considered the best AI art generator so far.

It was originally put together for Midjourney, but it can be used in any other AI art generator, including Bing, of course.
You can discover there new and inspiring ways to create stunning illustrations, photos, and other images to use in your brand and marketing materials.
In the end, you might still need the help of a professional to refine your designs, but AI generators like Bing are a good starting point.
